Our Philosophy

‘Simple Ingredients derived from Nature’

Our products are handmade from our own formulations. We do NOT use petroleum-based ingredients, mineral oils or pre-made bases. None of our ingredients or products are tested on animals.

We use natural plant oils and butters, also botanical hydrosols and extracts. We use cold-pressed oils and organic ingredients where possible. Our emulsifier and foaming agents are derived from natural rapeseed and coconut oils and are extremely mild and non-irritating. Our ingredients are chosen for their beneficial properties and are formulated to act synergistically to improve the texture and appearance of the skin.

All of our products contain a high percentage of active ingredients and we do not use unnecessary fillers. Our products are suitable for all skin types and are gentle enough for use on sensitive skin.

Water-based products are readily contaminated by bacteria and mould which could potentially transfer to the skin, resulting in both external and internal infections. Such products require the use of preservatives to reduce the risk of this happening. We use a small amount of synthetic preservative to ensure product and customer safety, but the one we use is FREE of Parabens and Formaldehyde.

We feel that a fragrance adds “aroma-therapeutic” benefits to a product - a fragrance can be uplifting, calming or invoke a sense of well-being. This can be achieved by both essential oils and fragrance oils. However, we do not often add essential oils due to the risk of sensitivities. Those products containing essential oils are clearly marked. We do add a small amount of synthetic fragrance to some products and this also carries a degree of risk of sensitivity, but we only use fragrances obtained from reputable suppliers, who have been approved by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and who declare all potential allergens present in their fragrances (these are given at the end of the ingredients list).

All of our products are handmade to order, ensuring that they are fresh and the active ingredients are at their most potent concentrations when you receive them.

As a result, the colour may vary from batch to batch. Also, in some instances, our fragrance oils may discolour the product. This is perfectly normal and does not affect the overall quality of the product.
